"Three wishes, to be exact. And ixnay on wishing for more wishes. That's all. Three. Uno, dos, tres. No substitutions, exchanges, or text."-The Genie from "Aladdin"
What would you wish if you could have six wishes? What would you do if you could wish for 6 different things, and they would all come true? I'm not talking about a magical genie appearing out of nowhere, just six wishes for you and you only. The only stipulation is that you can't ask for more wishes ("Ixnay on the wishing for more wishes.").
Here is what my amazing group of friends had to say about this topic starting with me...
1) Total health (Physically and mentally) for me and those I love.
2) Enough money to live comfortably for the rest of my life.
3) An amazing man to share my life with.
4) A life completely free of worry (we all know I am a worrier!)
And for fun...
5) An endless supply of Slurpees.
6) To be able to eat anything I want without gaining any weight.
-Stacie Briggs-
1) No more war.
2) Nobody goes to bed hungry.
3) Everyone gets a roof over their head.
Now that everyone in the world has the basics, now it is time to be a little bit selfish...
4) I wish I had a house in every cool city in the world.
5) I wish I could stop time and restart it whenever I wanted.
6) I wish for health and endless love to those I love.
-Courtney Knopps-
1) Happiness, not just for myself but for everyone.
2) To find love, wherever it may be.
3) For at least one healthy baby, someday.
4) Good health, lord knows I could use this one!
5) A career that will not only bring me success, but one that will keep me happy and help me feel accomplished.
6) Equality, for the world. I have always felt that if there was equality then the world would be a little more peaceful.
-Toria Ouahmane-
1) Financial stability
2) Good health
3) My girls to have long happy lives and be healthy.
4) To expand my family without putting the girls out because I love them.
5) All children would be able to have the same opportunities
6) For my husband to have a local job and be home for me and my family.
-Eryn Coffey-
1) I would wish for the ability to time travel.
2) I would wish for unlimited dark chocolate whenever I want it.
3) I would wish for a removable bladder so that I never have to pee in the middle of the night, I can just unzip my abdomen and take it out.
4)I'd wish for the ability to fload about 2 feet off the ground, just to freak everybody out.
5) I would wish for good health and safety for my loved ones.
6) Lastly, I would wish for a doppelganger, so that she can do everything I don't feel like doing and no one would ever know it wasn't really me.

The beginning...
· I decided to do this blog a little differently than most people. Instead of me blogging the entire time, I have decided to get some close friends and family, and put our thoughts together. Each time I write a blog entry, it will be bits and pieces of amazing people who want to share about their lives . So this week, I have asked a few people that I know “What is the biggest thing you have learned this year?” and here is what we came up with...starting with me...
· This year, I have learned about true friendship.
True friends…
Are there for you always, even when you know that they would rather be anywhere else. Drive you to the hospital, stay with you for hours, visit you even after they have worked all day, and sleep in really uncomfortable chairs just so you are not alone. Know when you are having a hard time without you having to say a word. Are excited for your success, but help you through your failures. Are there when you are broken, helping to put the pieces back together. Know that you can do the things that you think you can’t, and inspire you to do them. Help you be able to laugh at yourself. Will let you tell them anything without judgement. Understand your personality, beliefs, and goals, and encourage you without trying to change who you are.

There is so much more I could say about true friendship, but it would take forever. My friends that I have become close with this year, and a few of my friends that I have known for years have really exemplified true friendship this year for me. They were there for me through a lot of crappy stuff. This year has been really scary in terms of my health, and my friends have helped me feel safe and loved. I am blessed to have these amazing people in my life, and I hope that everyone can know what it is like to have amazing friends like I do.
o "I learned this year that doing nothing is almost never the solution. I'm not sure why I so often think that it is."
o –Brigette Thornes-
"I've learned that in order to truly love others, you must love yourself first. If you don't take the time to know and love yourself, no one else will either."
-Brianna Currin-
"I’ve learned this year that it is truly impossible to make EVERYONE happy…Make yourself happy first and foremost. Those who truly love you will at least be happy for you, even if they themselves are not happy."- Courtney Knopps-
"I learned this year that I can stand up for myself and stand on my own two feet. And that I am stronger than I thought I was."-Kara Regan-
o " This year I learned that I am stronger than I ever imagined I could be. Over the past few months my life has turned upside down, and I had to make some tough decisions. Decisions that in my mind I thought I could never make, but I did it. At first you think your life is over, that you will never adjust to the changes, that people just keep telling you "It'll get better" to make you feel ok. But then you just wake up one day, and after all the tears, the heartache, the sleepless nights, the worrying, you somehow realize that you will be ok. That you survived the worst of it, and you came out alive. Not only are you alive, but you're stronger and smarter. And I want to also say that I could have never learned this lesson on my own. I have some pretty amazing friends that helped me through the worst of it, and if it were not for them I would have NEVER been able to do it. I don’t think they realize just how special they are to me and just how much of a difference they have made in my life since they became a part of it. They kept me going every time I wanted to quit fighting.
So for anyone out there going through hell, believe me, it really does make sense one day. You just have to keep going until it does. And never deny the light that is inside of you." -Toria Ouahmane

I hope you enjoyed this first blog and that it brings something to your life, whether it be inspiration, a new realization, or maybe even something that you hadn't thought of.

Afraid of a butterfly
"Is this the little girl who is afraid of a butterfly?" my uncle said as we celebrated my Birthday. I was turning 3 that year, and was petrified of the candles on my cake. I was also scared half to death of butterflies (any insect for that matter), the dark, dogs, getting sick, getting hurt, you name it and I was probably afraid of it. My mom said that I would not go out on the porch if there was an ant crawling around. I did not like to go in the sandbox, because I knew that there were worms and bugs residing there. I would take a tums before I got a stomach ache, for fear that I would get a stomach ache. I also washed my hands constantly. My aunt laughed because I wouldn't go into her house because there was a dog (upstairs in the cage) and I wouldn't go outside because there was a butterfly. I would stand in the doorway, wondering what I should do...which fear was the worst. It is funny to me that I was so OCD and neurotic.
As I got older, those fears went away, but new ones formed. The fears that I developed as a teenager and adult were not as easy to see as when I was younger. Of course, I feared the normal things like rejection, but one of the biggest things I feared was not being able to please everyone, and that people would stop being my friends because they couldn't deal with the asthma stuff that I was dealing with.
It is amazing to me however, how people are placed in your life at the exact time you need them. This year especially, I feel like I am slowly becoming less afraid, and it has a lot to do with the people that have come into my life , and the people that have been in my life for awhile and are still there at every turn. When you have amazing people in your life, people that believe in you when you don't believe in yourself, you can do amazing things!
So...what are you afraid of?
